Fish Tacos are originated in Baja California a Mexican state. A taco is a A taco is a traditional Mexican dish composed of a corn or wheat tortilla folded or rolled around a filling. The word taco describes a typical Mexican dish of a maize tortilla folded around food. Tacos are popular mexican street food and it includes varities of fillings including chicken, seafood, pork, beef, vegtables etc. Tacos have been part of Mexico's culinary heritage for well over a hundred years. This delicious recipe is easy to make and a great dish for a small gettogether.

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 lb Cawoods Whitefish Skinless & Boneless Fillets cut into equal pieces
  • 1 Bottle Beer (Preferably Tiger Beer)
  • 2 cups vegetable oil
  • Lime Juice (1 Whole Lemon)
  • 1 Lemon wedges
  • Salt as per taste
  • 12 corn tortillas, warmed
  • 1 1/2 tbsp chili powder
  • 1 1/2 tbsp ground cumin
  • 1 1/2 tbsp ground corriander
  • 1/2 cup cilantro nicely chopped
  • 1/2 Red cabbage sliced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 medium size onion, diced
  • 3-4 big tomatoes, diced
  • 3/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup KANKUN chipotle sauce

Method

Heat oil in a deep-fryer or large saucepan. Cut the fish into equal slices. 

Meanwhile toss the cabbage, cilantro, tomatoes, onion, lime juice, 2 tbsp oil and salt to taste in a large bolw and keep aside.

In a medium bowl, Mix the the flour with chili powder, cumin, corriander, garlic and salt. Add the beer to the mixture and whisk until the batter is smooth.

Dip the fish slices in batter mix, let it be nicely coated on both the sides then deep fry into the oil till golden brown.

Now, stack two tortialla on a dish, Fill the tortillas with 2 pieces of fish, top with one tablespoon of cabbage slaw and chipotle sauce and serve with lime wedge to squeeze over the top.
