Tandoor is the word for a cylindrical earthen oven that has been in use in the western state of Punjab for centuries. It acts as a grill and an oven and the food cooked in this oven has become a mini cuisine of its own called tandoori food.

The Laila Tandoori Paste is a readymade version that cuts out a lot of hard work for you. Choose your favourite vegetables and meat, marinade them in the paste for 3 hours to overnight in the refrigerator and grill them in your oven.

  • Laila Tandoori Paste – ½ to ¾ bottle
  • Capsicum /Bell Peppers – 3/li>
  • Tomatoes – 4
  • Large Onion - 3
  • Pineapple – 1 tin or half a fresh pineapple
  • Boneless chicken in bite size pieces– 500 gms
  • Shrimp (deveined) – 500 gms

Cut the vegetables into 1.5 inch squares. Mix all the ingredients with the tandoori paste such that the tandoori paste coats the vegetable pieces and meat. And refrigerate.

Arrange all the different ingredients one by one on a skewer, so that at least one piece of all the varieties of vegetables and meats are in covered in one skewer. Prepare multiple skewers until all the ingredients are finished.

Grill them in a rotating grill in 180°F until the meat is well cooked and slightly crisp. Serve hot with mint chutney.
