Ingredients

  • 1 cup long-grain white rice or Laila’s Long grain rice
  • 7 cups water
  • 1 small cinnamon stick
  • 1 can (410 grams) Peak Evaporated milk
  • 1 can condensed milk
  • 1 cup whole milk
  • ¾ cup golden raisins
  • Ground cinnamon powder

Method

In a large, heavy saucepan bring the water, rice and cinnamon stick to a boil, over medium heat.

Cook uncovered, until the rice is tender, for about 18 minutes.

Drain out the water, discard the cinnamon. Return the rice to the pan.

Stir in the evaporated milk, condensed milk and whole milk.

Continue cooking over medium heat until the mixture comes to a boil.

Reduce heat, cook uncovered, stirring constantly, for about 20 minutes, till the mixture is thick.

Add the raisins. Stir well.

Transfer the mixture to a bowl. Dust with the cinnamon powder and serve hot.
